Asheville event celebrates the city's entrepreneurs, startups, businesses
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville is honoring those who foster innovation, develop creative solutions and create jobs benefiting the local economy.
Asheville Entrepreneurship Week, set for Sept. 12-16, celebrates the people and ventures of Asheville’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
SHOP-OWNER REFLECTS ON ASHEVILLE'S ONCE THRIVING HUB OF BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES
The week-long celebration, hosted by Venture Asheville with local partners, will include social events, pitches and education for startups, small business and corporations.
The week-long celebration kicked off Monday at Black Wall Street with an event that featured a city proclamation and a show and tell that showcased entrepreneurs.

Events this week include:
- Tuesday, Sept. 13 – Corporate Entrepreneurship Series (8:15-11 a.m. at UNC Asheville Highsmith Union) – Venture Asheville’s Corporate Entrepreneurship Series aims to foster entrepreneurial approaches to all kinds of work through conversations about innovation, growth and leadership with executives from some of the largest organizations in the world. This first in the series focuses on Value-Based Corporations with Ana Pinheiro Privette, global Lead for Amazon Sustainability Data Initiative. Tickets required.
- Wednesday, Sept. 14 – 1 Million Cups (9 a.m. at Hatch Innovation Hub)
- Wednesday, Sept. 14 – Digital Nomad’s Celebration (5:30 p.m. at Harvest Pizzeria Asheville) – Social event connecting remote workers to the local community. RSVP online.
- Thursday, Sept. 15 – Live podcast recording of Talking ‘Ship (12-1 at Wrong Way Lodge) – Sneak peek pre-grand opening event at Wrong Way Lodge and live recording of Venture Asheville’s entrepreneurship podcast. RSVP required.
- Friday, Sept. 16 - “Everything You Wanted to Ask an Investor but Were Too Afraid” Happy Hour (4-6 p.m. at Hatch Innovation Hub)
