PRESS RELEASE: CED Selects 10 Local Tech Startups to Attend the Business of Software Conference For Free

[August 23, 2022] Research Triangle Park NC. The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) announces today that it is headed to the renowned Business of Software conference in September with ten high-potential tech startups from the Triangle.

“When founders learn from the experiences of other founders, their potential for success increases dramatically,” says Kelly Rowell, CEO at CED. “Founders are the secret sauce of CED’s support programs and our priority when designing new engagements for local startups.”

Bill Spruill, an active founder and investor in the Triangle has generously donated ten tickets to the BoS Conference to create access for local founders to connect to resources outside of the region. Spruill has had a long relationship with CED, which began in the nineties before founding his tech company. He credits CED for creating opportunities for him as an entrepreneur and is motivated to amplify the organization’s efforts with targeted opportunities for tech founders that otherwise would be out of reach.

“The BoS experience is complementary to the support CED offers, therefore a great investment for our regional companies,” says Bill Spruill. “The opportunity to connect founders with their peers, share stories of growth and failure helps them anticipate challenges and build stronger companies.”

CED asked interested companies to fill out an application and based on those answers selected ten CEOs to participate. They are

Hersh Tapadia, CEO – Allstacks , Allison Wood, CEO & co-founder – DaVinci Education, Katy Jones, CEO – FoodLogiQ, Ben Hartmere, CEO – Map My Customers, Ivan Barajas Vargas, CEO – MuukTest, Jeff Maze, CEO & co-Founder, Quinsite, Matthew Schmidt, Founder & CEO PeopleLogic, Jon Sternstein, Founder & CEO – Stern Security, Dominick Blue, Founder & CEO – Trumi, and James Young, Co-Founder – XForms, LLC

Ivan Barajas says, “ I am attending to learn. The sessions and speakers are top-notch and personally, I am a big fan of Bob Moesta. It’s also a great business development opportunity as many attendees will fit our ideal customer profile”.  Allison Wood added, “Since founding my company nearly a decade ago, I have wanted to attend BoS to broaden my vision of what’s possible for my company. I am eager to take my game to the next level and believe I can learn things at BoS to help me do just that!”

Mr. Spruill attended the Business of Software Conference regularly as he built his company, Global Data Consortium (GDC) to exit in May 2022. He will be attending and speaking at this year’s event about leadership lessons from growth to exit. See the full line-up of speakers, here.
