It's a celebration of Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs this weekend in Asheville.

GRINDFest 2023 kicked off Friday, May 26, with several events in the River Arts District.

It continues Saturday and Sunday with activities for kids and adults, including rides and play areas.

There is also a ticketed concert with Big Boi and Waka Flocka Flame Saturday night, May 27, at Salvage Station.

The festival is put on by Black Wall Street AVL, which supports minority-owned businesses and their owners in the Asheville area.

"GRINDFest is a three-day festival where we celebrate Black-owned businesses and just businesses as a whole, just entrepreneurship," said Tyler Lewis Jr., with Black Wall Street. "It's just fun -- it's having fun, enjoying each other, making connections, partnerships with people."
