Local start-up receives $10K grant from NC IDEA
A Hendersonville start-up was one of 15 in North Carolina to receive a recent grant from NC IDEA, a private foundation focused on entrepreneurial ambition and economic advancement.
Rite of Passage received a $10,000 grant from NC IDEA in its inaugural pilot program, according to a news release from the organization. The startup is a high-end women’s wear collection made with natural yarns and high-quality cloth.
More than $147,000 was awarded to the startups.
The NC IDEA SEED Micro-Grant Pilot Program was created as an expansion of the foundation's long-standing grant program to provide funding to younger, promising startups not yet positioned for the foundation's traditional $50,000 seed grants, according to the release.
