As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Nate Branscomb, CEO of BCombs based in Cary, NC. BCombs is a CRM that focuses on automation, engagement and impact for youth mentoring organizations by helping them save time and increase impact.
Q: What problem are you trying to solve and what influenced you to start your company?
A: Uplifting youth. Initially my idea was to introduce youth and families to programs and events that provide learning and experiences they may not otherwise have. We pivoted to helping youth mentoring nonprofits automate their processes, collection needed data, increase engagement both internally and with the youth and families they serve, and provide the needed metrics and analysis to improve their programs and fulfill their missions.
Q: How will your NC IDEA grant funds advance your company?
A: While the funds will help, I believe the ecosystem will have the largest impact.
Q: When did you know you wanted to take an entrepreneurial path?
A: I’ve always known. Entrepreneurship allows me to draw on multiple skills. I decided to pursue entrepreneurship when I had an Idea and realized that I had the network and drive to give it a shot.
Q: What is your favorite productivity app?
A: Google Calendar – I live by my calendars!
