NC IDEA Announces Ecosystem Partner Grant

DURHAM, NC – March 15, 2016 – NC IDEA, a private foundation committed to supporting entrepreneurial business innovation and economic advancement in North Carolina, announced today that the organization will be accepting proposals for innovative and transformational ideas that can further North Carolina’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Ecosystem Partner Grant is a new initiative developed to further the organization’s mission following its recent conversion to a private foundation.

NC IDEA’s mission is to maximize the economic potential of the people of North Carolina by supporting the formation and fruition of high-growth entrepreneurial endeavors in the state. The Ecosystem Partner Grant will enable NC IDEA to further its mission by working with partners around the state to foster a diverse, collaborative Community; identify and impact promising Companies; facilitate the formation and multiplication of Capital; nurture and attract world-class Talent while optimizing Connectivity.

NC IDEA invites proposals from both nonprofit and for profit organizations throughout the state with new or existing initiatives and innovative ideas. Grant requests can be up to $250,000 of total funding, over one year, or spread over three years. Grant award notifications are anticipated in July 2016.

Responses will be evaluated and selected by a grants committee comprised of board members based on the idea’s potential to further NC IDEA’s mission and align with the organization’s strategic initiatives. Competitive submissions will outline measurable and desirable outcomes, convey sustainability and find opportunities to leverage participation.
