RALEIGH — NC IDEA wrapped up day three of their Ecosystem Summit with the winners of the fall cohort of the SEED grant. NC IDEA also recognized fifteen fall MICRO grant recipients during the announcement.
The SEED grants, each representing $50,000 in non-dilutive funding, have been awarded to six small businesses across the state. The grants were awarded after a three-month competitive application process and aim to provide early-stage companies with the funding and support they need to scale and reduce risk. Funds also come with mentorship and guidance to support innovative startups that demonstrate a proven concept.
The NC IDEA SEED grant program has awarded over $9.3 million to 205 companies since 2006. Four of the six recipients had previously received a smaller MICRO grant from NC IDEA, which helped them validate their business ideas and become eligible for the larger SEED grant.
