RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Small Business owners, entrepreneurs, and Workforce Development professionals will be headed to the RTI Holden Building Tuesday for a full day of collaboration. NC IDEA and the North Carolina Association of Workforce Development Boards (NCAWDB) are partnering to host the event, focused on tackling small business challenges and sharing best practices.

According to Andrea Cook with NC IDEA, the event, entitled, “Fueling the Future of the Small Business and the Entrepreneur Ecosystem: A Small Business and Entrepreneurial Convening,” is designed “help entrepreneurs navigate the post-pandemic talent landscape.”
The event is sold out.
Much of the day will be dedicated to providing insights for entrepreneurs and sharing the experiences of starting and running a small business. There are also speakers representing workforce development boards from across the state to provide insights into finding skilled talent. Several “spotlight” sessions will profile entrepreneurs and aim to speak to the best ways to support and work with local small businesses.
Event Agenda
According to the event agenda, the day will open with a welcome by the hosts. Rodney Carson, President of NCAWDB, Thom Ruhe, President of NC IDEA, and Jeff Fredrick, SVP of Global HR Business Partnering for RTI will each offer comments to set the tone for the day. This will be followed by sessions from the NC Commerce Chief Deputy Secretary D. Jordan Whichard and Olalah Njenga, a member of the NC Works Commission, CEO, and advocate for the small business economy.
Entrepreneurial ecosystem feeds on connections at Raleigh-Durham Startup Week
The event aims to “Bring it all together” in a final session with Christopher Green of Forward Impact & Raleigh Founded. A networking reception will take place following the final wrap-up.
