RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — Looking at 15 different local or regional job board sites for “startup” jobs, the exclusive WRAL TechWire Jobs Report showed 7,507 openings (not accounting for duplications in postings) this week.
TechWire spoke with Will McGuire, Founder & CEO of Incolo, to better understand whether startups are holding off on hiring right now.
(Incolo is a crowdfunding-focused company helping startups learn about and use crowdfunding instruments, including many Triangle- and NC-based startups.)
Job openings inch down in Triangle, but now is great time to hire, recruiter says
“From what I can tell, every startup is in a period of maturity, meaning either they are temporarily holding off on hiring or they are getting smarter about who they hire for growth,” said McGuire.
Startup job numbers have remained in the 7,000s for the last month, after they dipped below 8,000 in early October for the first time since WRAL TechWire began tracking this data.
McGuire spoke on a panel at NC IDEA’s 2023 Ecosystem Summit on Tuesday. The three-day conference ends Wednesday.
