Published April 10, 2024
As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Sandeep Bhatt, CEO and Founder of SonoVoice based in Raleigh, NC. SonoVoice is developing the future of science-based voice evaluation and voice training. The digital device and smartphone app will deliver data-driven, automated vocal health evaluations and guided voice training.
Q: What problem are you trying to solve and what influenced you to start your company?
A: Starting SonoVoice has given me the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest people in voice science, voice rehabilitation, engineering and design. I am honored to work with my SonoVoice colleagues every day to bring our vocal health solutions to market. This entrepreneurial journey has also enabled me to innovate in a field about which I am very passionate: the human voice. I sang professionally for many years, performed multiple shows per week and personally experienced voice problems. Working with the medical experts at Duke Voice Care Center, I learned techniques to rehabilitate my voice and was introduced to proactive training that could improve the efficiency of voice production and reduce the likelihood of future voice injury. I founded SonoVoice to make science-based voice care accessible to everyone by commercializing patent-pending technology I co-invented as a graduate student at NC State University with professors from NC State and Duke University.
