As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Brian Glover, Co-Founder and CEO of Previewed based in Greensboro, NC. Previewed revolutionizes blue-collar recruitment with an AI-driven, gamified platform that enhances hiring, upskilling, and community engagement in trades and manufacturing industries.

Q: What problem are you trying to solve and what influenced you to start your company?

A: We’re tackling the severe labor shortage and skills gap in blue-collar industries. Inspired by the rising demand for skilled tradespeople and the inefficiencies in traditional recruitment processes, we founded Previewed to streamline how workers connect with meaningful employment and training opportunities, ultimately elevating the perception and accessibility of blue-collar careers.

Q: What are you most excited about right now? What keeps you up at night?

A: I’m most excited about the incredible potential of our AI-driven platform, Previewed, to transform blue-collar recruitment. It’s thrilling to see how our innovative approach to gamifying the job search and matching process is making real differences in the lives of job seekers and employers. The excitement comes from knowing that we’re not just filling jobs but are actively enhancing career trajectories and shaping the future of work in sectors that form the backbone of our economy.

What keeps me up at night is the challenge of scaling our impact. There’s a pressing need to address the skilled labor shortage and to provide comprehensive upskilling opportunities. Ensuring our platform can meet these demands effectively while maintaining the quality and personal touch that sets us apart is a constant focus. Balancing rapid growth with sustained, meaningful impact is a challenge that I ponder over, aiming to get it right for the sake of our users and the broader community.

Q: What does the road ahead look like for your company?

A: Looking ahead, the road for Previewed is marked by growth and innovation. We’re set on expanding our reach within the blue-collar sectors, enhancing our platform’s AI capabilities to deliver even more precise matchmaking between job seekers and employers. Our goal is to make Previewed synonymous with blue-collar recruitment, synonymous with efficiency, empowerment, and growth. Additionally, we aim to deepen our impact through strategic partnerships and by championing policies that support the trades. The vision is clear: to redefine the landscape of workforce development and ensure that every skilled worker can find a path that leads them to success and satisfaction in their careers.

Q: When did you know you wanted to take an entrepreneurial path?

A: Entrepreneurship has been a part of my essence from the beginning, woven into my DNA. Growing up in a family of relentless entrepreneurs and hustlers, the desire to forge my own path and create something groundbreaking was ignited early on. This intrinsic drive has shaped not just my career choices, but my entire outlook on what it means to build and innovate.

Q: What have you enjoyed most about starting your own company?

A: What I’ve relished most about launching my own company is the relentless journey of discovery and adaptation. Experimenting with diverse theories and watching as each idea evolves with new insights provides an exhilarating clarity that continually shapes our path forward. This dynamic process of learning and refining our approach not only enhances our understanding of the business and our clients but also sharpens our vision, driving us to innovate and excel in ways previously unimagined.

Q: What is one thing you wish you understood about entrepreneurship before you ever got started?

A: Before embarking on my entrepreneurial journey, I wish I had grasped the elusive nature of balance. The truth is, every aspect of life—from your business to your family—demands 100%. Recognizing that balance isn’t about perfect equilibrium but rather about making pivotal choices and prioritizing effectively can empower you to navigate the intense demands with resilience and strategic focus.

Q: Who do you look to for advice and mentorship?

A: My wife, my father, my co-founder, my advisors Troy and Joel, and early supporters like Joey Cheeks from Launch Greensboro.

Q: What other passions do you have besides your business?

A: Getting out to the Mountains with my wife and kids and connecting with nature and reading any good book that will make me a better husband, father, businessman, and overall a better human.

While visiting Greensboro, Brian recommends:

  • A great way to spend a day in Greensboro is by enjoying some Southern comfort food at Stephanie’s on Randleman Road followed by an evening of music in the park at both City Center Park and LeBauer Park. This would definitely give a visitor a lovely taste of what the city has to offer. The combination of good food and live music in a lively park setting seems like a perfect Sunday plan!
