As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Jonathan Gargoshian, COO and Co-Founder of The Gamrly Company based in Charlotte, NC. Gamrly is the professional network for esports connecting players, coaches, and creators with teams and events through powerful portfolios and recruitment tools.

Q: What problem are you trying to solve and what influenced you to start your company?

A: We are solving the fundamental problem of how to build a career in esports. I was fortunate enough to compete on the world stage, and I realized my opportunity was based more on luck than a clear path. After working with passionate young players and others trying to break into the scene. I’ve seen how difficult and unstructured that path is for everyone. We built Gamrly to create that missing structure and give aspiring professionals a real opportunity to succeed.

Q: When did you know you wanted to take an entrepreneurial path?

A: My entrepreneurial path started early, from reselling drinks I bought in bulk at school to later starting a fitness apparel company simply because I was passionate about fitness. For me, entrepreneurship provides a sense of freedom that a typical job just can’t match. It’s the ultimate proof that the sky is the limit for opportunity; your business can go as far as your willpower will let it. I love that each day looks different. That’s what makes it fun.

Q: What have you enjoyed most about starting your own company?

A: What I’ve enjoyed most is that I don’t have to do it alone. I get to work alongside one of my best friends, Travis Mason, which makes the journey both challenging and incredibly enjoyable. We constantly push each other, sharing the same drive and passion to succeed. Because we’re united in our ‘why’ for starting Gamrly, we’re able to celebrate our progress together, making each day better than the last.

Q: What is one thing you wish you understood about entrepreneurship before you ever got started?

A: I wish I had understood the sheer volume of resources available for new entrepreneurs. When Travis and I started Gamrly, we learned everything ourselves, our advisors often called us ‘autodidacts.’ From marketing and sales to analytics and pitching, we just dove in and figured it out because we didn’t know what support existed. Now that I’m part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, I see this incredible network of resources and wish we’d known how to tap into it from day one.
