As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Sabrina Hill, Owner of Spice Witch based in Asheville, NC. Spice Witch offers premium infused oils, honeys, and chili crisps, crafted to elevate home cooking with innovative flavors and effortless gourmet quality.

Q: What problem are you trying to solve and what influenced you to start your company?

A: I started Spice Witch because I know how frustrating it can be to want a flavorful, gourmet meal at home without spending hours or needing a pantry full of spices. Growing up with a chef and a magician as parents, I was always surrounded by creativity and magic in the kitchen. I wanted to bring that same joy and ease to others, so they could feel inspired to cook without the pressure. Spice Witch lets anyone add deep, complex flavors to their meals quickly, making everyday cooking something exciting and fun.

Q: What are you most excited about right now? What keeps you up at night?

A: Right now, I’m most excited about building something I truly believe in with Spice Witch. It’s incredibly fulfilling to work alongside my team, build a community around our products, and bring creativity and innovation into everything we do. What keeps me up at night is making sure we’re growing in the right way, staying true to our mission, and continuing to make products that genuinely enhance people’s cooking experiences. Balancing all those moving parts is a challenge, but it’s what drives me to keep pushing forward!

Q: When did you know you wanted to take an entrepreneurial path?

A: I’ve always known I wanted to take an entrepreneurial path. My dad was an entrepreneur, and I definitely inherited his skills and mindset in that sense. I’ve always thought for myself, finding so much joy and freedom in creating something of my own and working independently. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about carving my own path, solving problems, and building a business that reflects my passions and values.

Q: What other passions do you have besides your business?

A: Outside of my business, I’m deeply passionate about art and music. I’ve been a professional photographer for 15 years, which has kept me creatively inspired and allowed me to travel the world. Lately, my passions have turned toward food—cooking, dining out, and learning about ingredients and flavors from different cultures. Exploring new flavors and techniques from around the world has been a huge influence on Spice Witch and keeps me constantly inspired!

While visiting Asheville, Sabrina recommends:

• If you’re coming to Asheville, start with a scenic hike along the Blue Ridge Parkway for incredible mountain views. For food, I’d recommend Mother Bread—their locally sourced dishes are amazing, and you can even try some Spice Witch flavors there. Contrada is a must for creative, unforgettable pizzas. And don’t miss Sierra Nevada Brewery for a laid-back vibe, great beers, and Spice Witch featured on their menu. It’s the perfect way to experience Asheville’s best!
