Teen Health Research – MICRO Fall 2025

Published March 12, 2026

As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Sabrina Percher, COO and Co-Founder of Teen Health Research based in Raleigh, NC. Teen Health Research‘s “Let’s Talk” is a digital platform that helps families talk about puberty, growing up, and relationships—making these big, often cringy topics easier and more fun to talk about.

Q: How will your NC IDEA grant funds advance your company?

A: The NC IDEA grant is helping us strengthen the foundation for Let’s Talk and support several key milestones as we move toward launch in 2026. With this support, we’re able to improve the user experience through focused design work, run a small pre-launch pilot to gather meaningful feedback from families, and expand early outreach so more parents learn about the platform. The funding also helps us take important early steps toward investment readiness.

Q: When did you know you wanted to take an entrepreneurial path?

A: I don’t think there was one single moment—I’ve always been drawn to solving problems that matter and creating things that should exist in the world. Over time, I realized that entrepreneurship gives me the freedom to pursue mission-driven work, whether it’s helping families communicate better or advancing safety solutions for the public. What motivates me most is building things that make people’s lives safer, easier, or more connected. Entrepreneurship became the natural path because it allows me to turn those ideas into something real and impactful.

Q: What is one thing you wish you understood about entrepreneurship before you ever got started?

A: I wish I had understood how much of entrepreneurship is a learning journey—and how many hats a founder has to wear, sometimes all in the same day. You’re not just responsible for the product; you’re building an entire business from the ground up. Most days will push you out of your comfort zone and challenge you to figure out things you’ve never done before. It can be intense, but it forces you to grow quickly, stay adaptable, and get comfortable with constant change. You’re constantly thinking about runway and raising the next round to keep things moving. It’s both thrilling and overwhelming, but it has taught me to learn fast, ask for help, and lean on the broader support ecosystem—other founders, mentors, and organizations like NC IDEA that offer guidance, resources, and funding when you need them most.

Q: What other passions do you have besides your business?

A: I love art, and I’m one of the co-chairs of the Boylan Heights ArtWalk in Raleigh, now in its 33rd year. Every first Sunday of December, more than 150 artists from across North Carolina set up on porches and lawns throughout the neighborhood, turning it into a vibrant outdoor market. It’s one of my favorite community events and a huge source of inspiration for me. I also love to cook—it’s my way of unwinding—and I’m always planning my next trip, because traveling fuels my creativity.

While visiting Raleigh, Sabrina recommends:

  • I’d send them straight to Dorothea Dix Park—Gipson Plaza and the many art installations throughout the park, including pieces by resident artist Preston Montague and the Thomas Dambo Trolls, make it feel playful and immersive. For food, St. Roch, Sushi Mon, and Brewery Bhavana are some of my favorites—though there are so many great places in Raleigh that it’s hard to choose.
