As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Marcus Howard, Ph.D., CEO of ROSA based in Chapel Hill, NC. ROSA is a mental health counseling friend for students that combines emotional data tracking, powerful data analytics, and licensed professionals to provide on-demand mental health support.
Q: What are you most excited about right now? What keeps you up at night?
A: I am most excited about the opportunity to improve the lives of millions of young people who are experiencing mental health challenges that limit their ability to learn in the classroom.
Q: What have you enjoyed most about starting your own company?
A: I’ve enjoyed bringing to life a solution that is addressing a growing global challenge and will have lasting impact for millions of young people.
Q: What other passions do you have besides your business?
A: I love writing! As a passion project, I would like to one day write and produce a movie.
While visiting Chapel Hill, Marcus recommends:
- I would suggest visiting during a UNC/Duke basketball game. When UNC defeats Duke, you should take a trip to Franklin Street to see the entire Carolina student body celebrate. It’s the best feeling ever!
