As part of our ‘Meet Our Founders’ series today, we introduce Troy Blaylock, Chief Operating Officer of Parking Pin based in Cary, NC. Parking Pin is revolutionizing parking through accessible and affordable, hardware-free solutions. Our platform empowers parking administrators to make data-driven decisions to address parking and traffic concerns that affect their commuter populations.
Q: What are you most excited about right now? What keeps you up at night?
A: I’m excited about the future of mobility. The way we travel in the next 20-40 years is going to be drastically different from present day modalities. I’m looking forward to being around to see this change and participate as a player in this lane of innovation (pun intended).
Q: How will your NC IDEA grant funds advance your company?
A: NC IDEA has given us capital fuel to launch a series of beta pilots for prospective customers. Through a pilot our team will use the insights gathered to help us validate our value proposition and test the system capabilities of our early product.
Q: What have you enjoyed most about starting your own company?
A: The people, hands down. Both who we’ve been blessed to work with and have met along this journey. You’d be surprised by how much you can learn from others and how many people are eager to help you. There are truly some smart, talented, and interesting people in this world. Starting a company is a great way to surround yourself with these folks.
While visiting Cary, Troy recommends:
- The North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival is a great attraction and fun thing to do while you’re in Cary during the winter. Last time I went it was cold, so go on a warmer day if you can, but the lanterns they showcase are out of this world. Good vibes all around. Don’t forget to bring friends.
